My name is Melissa and I am a Mama of one beautiful baby girl, being forced to leave her behind while I go to work everyday.
It is definitely not what I had planned when I thought about being a mother.
I always wanted to be a stay at home mom…it just sounded like a perfect world, however, life just happens sometimes, and you have to do what you don’t want to do.
Kinda makes you miss childhood, although kids still have to do what they don’t want to do, like chores for example.
But now, I wish I could stay home and do chores all day and play with my baby in between! Although I do love the sweet smiles when I come home at night.
My job gave me maternity leave and I was able to take additional time off, so I am very lucky compared to what a lot of other jobs offer new mothers, but it still isn’t enough to make me feel good about leaving her behind.
What I really want to do is become my own boss and work from home… I’ve always loved writing and I’m a beginner copywriter.
I am beginning this blog to get myself writing consistently and to record my journey and any information I find and learn, and thoughts I have along the way.
I hope I am able to get where I want to be, and maybe encourage other mothers (or fathers!) along the way to become entrepreneurs and not have to be away from their children for 40+ hours a week, if that’s not what you want to do, of course.
